Photo walk with the Olympus Stylus Zoom 140

One of our most popular cameras is the Olympus Stylus Zoom 140.  So, we decided to take one out on a nice Saturday morning and shoot a roll of Kodak UltraMax 400!

We started our photo walk with coffee from our favorite spot Sunshine Sister Coffee and crepes from Abelitos Crepe Cafe.  While we waited for our food we loaded up our roll of Kodak UltraMax 400 and took a few shots.  The Olympus Stylus Zoom 140 excellently exposed our images even though we were shooting into a very contrasty situation with direct sunlight and deep shadows.

After we finished our food, we decided to explore downtown Bastrop.  The historic downtown has so many cool small businesses.  Shooting photos through windows always adds a unique texture to the images.  The camera did a great job of accurately capturing the dynamic storefront displays.  Inside of the Painted Porch Book Shop, the built in flash came in handy when taking photos that would otherwise be dark and blurry.

Continuing down Main St. we spotted a neighborhood cat enjoying the sunny morning.  We were able to use the impressive zoom of the Olympus Stylus Zoom 140 to capture the cat without disturbing it!

It is easy to see why this is such a popular camera.  The images far exceed the quality produced by most point and shoots, the controls are simple, and the camera feels very well constructed.  Perfect for a Saturday photo walk!
