Yesterday we decided to take an impromptu photo walk with the Nikon One Touch Zoom 90S. Our goal was simple. Shoot an entire roll of 35mm film and get it developed while out on a walk/bike ride exploring Austin, TX. Our film of choice was Kodak UltraMax 400.
Shooting 35mm Film In Austin, TX
We started our journey in the neighborhood north of campus and then headed south towards Lady Bird Lake. Since we were traveling without a car, it was nice to have a small film camera that easily fit into a backpack.
Capturing Summer on Kodak Film
Our first stop was the small market in Hyde Park (a great place to get a cool drink on a summer day!). A patch of sunflowers caught our eye on the way there and we just had to stop for a photo. The Nikon One Touch Zoom 90S did a great job of capturing the contrast-y conditions in this neighborhood where bright rays of sunlight cut through the shaded canopy of trees.
Next stop was the UT Austin campus. We shot a few more film photos of the art installations along Speedway and then continued downtown.
How Is The Nikon 90S's Zoom?
The Nikon One Touch Zoom 90S was our camera of choice for this photo walk because we were looking for a compact 35mm camera with a versatile zoom. Some of the locations along Lady Bird Lake are perfect for taking advantage of a camera's zoom function. This Nikon did not disappoint!
We wrapped up our trip with a stop at Barton Springs before looping back around to the famous Congress Ave. bridge.
Ultra Max 400 Is Great For Bright Colors
The Kodak Ultra Max 400 did a great job of capturing the saturated colors that we found in this area. Our last shot on this roll of film was of the downtown Austin skyline. Next stop, the photo lab to get our roll developed!
